Approach and Certifications

There are different types of support we can lean on in our lives when we are processing our past, working through hardships in the present, and looking to create goals for the future - seeking out therapy can act as a great addition to your support “toolbox.” With my eight years of experience in social work and individual counseling, we can work together to develop skills, learn coping mechanisms, and set boundaries that can help you navigate life’s ups and downs.

Certifications

Trauma and challenging life experiences can impact mental and physical health. This is one reason why I decided to pursue post Master certifications and trainings with trauma informed frameworks. I am certified as a Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapist (TF CBT)through the National Therapist Certification Program.

Cognitive behavioral therapy helps guide my clinical practice, but I also incorporate other modalities into session as well. I have pursued continuing education training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and have taken courses on mindfulness meditation. In all aspects of my work, I utilize mindfulness and grounding to help regulate the sympathetic nervous system, emphasizing the strong connection between mind and body.
